Description

Steatite is a natural stone which is soft and of varying colour and form.

It is known generally as ''Soap Stone'' and was one preferred by the Egyptians.

It is ideal for learning stone carving and for making sculptures which look like marble.

Steatite is a stable mineral and is resistant to frost.

Solargil offers steatite in four colours : white, grey, pink and green, as well as a ''tool kit'' for beginners in sculpture, special sand to hold the stone still and absorb the dust. Steatite is sold in 20 kg packs compising assorted sizes and colours.
