Also called orthoclase or microline.

In glazes: the most important alkaline raw material for glazes.

Brings potassium oxide in a water insoluble form, wider melting range, melting point at 1250°C.

Molar formula

CaO= 0,04 Ai2O3 = 1,01

Na2O= 0,26 Fe2O3= 0,02 SiO2=6,066

K2O= 0.70
